About Us

Danny Broom is the sole owner of the company and is currently overseeing all facets of the business, from sales to project management.

Since moving to New Zealand in 2003, his first job was as contracts manager with Laser electrical, which gave him an overview of the construction industry and helped him forge relationships with many local tradesmen.

In 2004 he became contracts manager with Norton Homes in Christchurch. Due to illness with the owner (general manager) Danny had to take over the running of the business and became general manager over seeing all areas of the company. During this period he successfully built over 30 new homes including various multi property developments. He acquired many new skills required for building within New Zealand understanding the building codes and forging strong and lasting relationships with respected and reliable sub trades.

Construction Experience:

Danny has over 18 years experience in site management and project management. Originally from the UK, he worked for major development companies (Bellway Homes), (Prowting Homes) starting as an assistant site manager progressing to a senior site manager position.

During his many years with these companies he was in sole charge of multi property developments. Using a diverse range of management skills, dealing with local authorities, liaising with government housing officials and ensuring contracts were delivered on time and budget in a professional manner.

Whilst working for these companies he had to attend numerous training programmes relating to Site management and site safety. Including scaffolding appreciation courses, gas safety and awareness, health and safety, first aid and Site management supervisor’s courses.

Insurances & Guarantees:

Devon Construction is a member of ‘Built-in’ New Zealand part of the Certified builder’s organisation and can offer 7 year build guarantees for all properties. With site safety a key factor on all projects Devon Construction is a member of the ‘Site Safe’ organisation and promotes all good working practices and strives to keep all developments tidy and safe, for tradesmen and customers.
